About Us |
|
The Hong Kong Institute of Environmentalists (HKIOE) is a non-profit organization and an
environmental and professional association of Hong Kong, which aimed to gather the power of
environmental professionals to make contributions to the environmental protection, conservation and sustainable development in Hong Kong and the World.
Since establishment on 12 April 2010, we have many members from political, business sectors and academic institutions. Actually, members could not only broaden their knowledge, but also enrich themselves to achieve improvement in their field of work.
Dr. Ho Chung Ming is the founder, founding president Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Environmentalists General Assembly. Notably, he named the professional title of "Environmentalist" and established competency standards in Hong Kong. He was the Honorary Fellow of the Society of Environmental Engineers (SEE) in UK and also the first President of the Hong Kong Chapter. Significantly, the SEE was a professional body recognized by the British Government and can be registered as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv). Dr. Ho leads our institute to set up chapters in Hong Kong as well as other cities to promote the mission and objectives of the HKIOE.
In 2021, the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (UK), recognized the full membership of HKIOE, so that MHKEnv with REnv was equivalent to the Chartered Building Engineer and can be further registered as a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist in UK.
