About Us |
|
The Hong Kong Institute of Environmentalists (HKIOE) is an environmentally and professionally focused non-profit organization that aims to bring together environmental professionals to enhance environmental protection, conservation and sustainable development in Hong Kong and around the world. Since its establishment in 2010, HKIOE has attracted members from the political, business, industrial and academic sectors, providing them with a platform for learning and exchange. In 2011, the Institute was accredited by the Society of Environmental Engineers (SEE) in the United Kingdom (UK), followed by the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) in the UK in 2021, which allows members to recognize the Chartered Building Engineers qualification of the UK, thus enhancing the international status of the Institute. In the same year, the HKIOE became a founding member of the Hong Kong Engineering Association Alliance (HKEAA) and established "Hong Kong Environmentalists Day" on 28th October every year to enhance professional solidarity and public awareness. In 2022, the HKIOE was awarded the "2022 Hong Kong Volunteer Award" in recognition of its outstanding contribution as an environmental ambassador and volunteer.
